Below is a copy of an Email from a relative of Richard Sylvester recieved in 2004

Hello Ken,

I was pleased to find your site with the pictures of Sylvester railway cars. Richard Sylvester was my great-grandfather and I have developed an interest in documenting his business and so it was neat to see that people are still appreciating the equipment his company manufactured.

After Richard died, his sons took over the business and Carl's son has sent me photocopies of articles and brochures - nothing in great technical detail though.

I hope one day to put up a website myself documenting the Sylvester family and of course his business. The Sylvester family came to Ontario from Wexford, Ireland in about the 1830's and Richard, the first generation to be born here did was successful in his business from an early age.

You have an interesting hobby - the internet is fascinating in the way you can connect with people.
